Once you have received the REO property assignment, the first task is to determine occupancy status, secure the property, then assess its condition. Specific forms and timelines are required to begin the property preservation and marketing process which continues for the life of the assignment.
You must visit the property for a thorough inspection inside and out. This will tell you with no doubt what exactly is needed to move the property off your client’s troubled balance sheet.
A detail questionnaire is provided which you will make repair recommendations for FHA financing, renovations and curb appeal. In addition, you must price the property correctly to lower market time and designing an aggressive marketing plan to move it.
